During the Olympic football tournament, fans will be able to cheer on footballers from around the world in one of France’s most iconic stadiums. Since it was built in 1931, the “Chaudron” has been renovated several times, modernising its access and stands, making it a very modern stadium today. Home to AS Saint-Etienne football club since it was built, Geoffroy-Guichard stadium has welcomed all of the major sporting events organised by France. The Euro 1984 Football Championship, the 1998 Football World Cup, the 2007 Rugby World Cup and, more recently, Euro 2016, when it saw its latest renovation to date.
