Created for the Euro 2016 Football Championship, Bordeaux Stadium will welcome the world in 2024. With its spectacular design and iconic columns, mirroring the Landes forest, it is the main sports venue in the Gironde Region’s capital city Bordeaux Stadium was built in line with sustainable and environmentally responsible standards: for example, its roof is covered with 700 sqm of solar panels. Since it was inaugurated, it has been home to the Girondins de Bordeaux, one of France’s leading football teams. It has also staged a Football League Cup final and the semi-finals of the Top 14 rugby tournament on two occasions, as well as a number of concerts.
