The European Games in Krakow 2023 will award the first passes in boxing for the Paris 2024 Olympics. The International Olympic Committee has published the new qualification criteria for the Olympic tournaments. Seven categories have been confirmed for men with a total of 124 athletes (16 places for 51 kg, 18 places for 57 kg, 20 places for 63.5 kg, with the same number for 71 kg, 18 places for 80 kg, 16 places for 92 kg and for over-92 kg). The six weight categories planned for women have also been confirmed with a total of 124 places, with some novelties in terms of distribution: there will be 22 places for the 50 kg, 54 kg, 57 kg and 60 kg tournaments, plus 20 places for the 66 kg category and 16 for the 75 kg class.

The qualifying period will open on 1 May 2023 and close on 31 May 2024. Athletes will first of all be able to obtain a pass to Paris by way of the European qualifying tournaments: Europe will award 22 passes for women and the same number for men at the European Olympic Games in Krakow, scheduled from 23 June to 2 July 2023. Each nation can only qualify one athlete per weight category.

Two world qualifying tournaments will subsequently be organised in 2024. The first will allocate 21 female Olympic quotas and 28 male, the second will allocate between 20 and 23 female places (based on passes yet to be reserved for France) and between 25 and 28 male places (again based on passes yet to be reserved for the host country). At the two world tournaments, each nation may enter one athlete in each of the categories in which it has not yet obtained an Olympic quota. France is guaranteed at least three female places, plus three for males, as well as five Universality Places for women and four for men.
