The second day of the Spring Open Swimming Championships ended in triumph for Filippo Megli.

In the Riccione pool, the 27-year-old Florentine, who played a pivotal role in the initial series of the 4x200 freestyle, completed his split in 1'45"91 (below the 1'46"26 threshold), earning an individual qualification for the relay event at the Summer Olympic Games in Paris 2024.

Paolo Palchetti's charge came very close to 1'45"8, a time that is valid for winning the Olympic quota in the individual event.

“They have been difficult years,” confessed Megli (photo Giorgio Scala, Giorgio Perottino, Andrea Staccioli, Andrea Masini / DBM) at the end of the event. “This result repays me for so many sacrifices and the work done together with my coach, with the conviction that I can return to important levels,” concluded the Italian.
