Before flying to China for the event that opens the diving World Cup season, Chiara Pellacani underwent routine medical examinations at CONI’s Institute of Sports Medicine and Science at the Acqua Acetosa Olympic Preparation Centre in Rome.

“For us athletes it is fundamental to continuously monitor the state of our health", explained the athlete, who hails from Rome and was born in 2002. “To get an examination from the specialists here is a real privilege".

One of the great protagonists of the European Championships in Rome in 2022, in which she won five medals in as many competitions, the Italian athlete wants to get off on the right foot on the world championship circuit: “The event in Xi'an will be an important test and also useful to understand what level I am at now, ahead of the European Championships in June in Poland".

After the triumphs at home, it will be even more significant to shine in the Polish pool in Rzeszow where, in addition to the European medals, the title of the European Games in Krakow 2023 and the first quotas for the Paris 2024 Games will also be up for grabs: “I have been working hard to try to replicate in Poland the great results in Rome in 2022. I will give it my all. After that I will focus on the World Championships scheduled for July in Japan".

And then her imagination soars towards the coming season: “I get really excited thinking about Paris 2024. In Tokyo 2020 I only competed in the synchro [a competition that ended with seventh place, ed.]. This time my goal is to also qualify in the individual 3-metre event".
