Biography
Playing water polo was a natural choice. In his family, the examples set by his older brother and sister, his mother but above all his father Massimo, world champion with Italy in 1978 in Berlin, are too strong for things to be different. Despite the weighty association with a name as illustrious as his father's, he never perceives it as a burden; instead, it serves as motivation to continually strive for excellence. He quickly proved to everyone that he did not get ahead because of his surname but because of his enormous talent. He grew up in Camogli before moving at only 17 to Pro Recco, where he returned permanently in 2022. At the same age came his first call-up to the national team. Among the ranks of the Settebello he can boast two European bronze medals and two world silver medals. The jewel in his crown, however, is the Olympic bronze medal he won in Rio 2016. For more unforgettable moments, he has his sights set on Paris 2024, where he is ready to take to the pool for his second Olympic experience.
