Biography
He grew up in Rari Nantes Bogliasco to follow in the footsteps of his two older brothers Roman and Alessandro. In 2014, he was involved in a terrible car accident, which cost him multiple fractures and several days in a pharmacological coma. Despite the pessimism from doctors regarding the continuation of his career, he summoned the inner strength needed to begin a remarkable comeback. Not surprisingly, he has the poem Invictus, by English author William Ernest Henley, tattooed on his thigh. In 2016 he was bought by Pro Recco, who in turn loaned him to Sport Management. It was here, thanks to the intuition of coach Marco Gu Baldineti, that he was diverted to the role of defender, a change that allowed him to wear the blue cap. With the national team, awaiting his Olympic debut in Paris 2024, he can already boast a gold and two silver medals in the world championships as well as a European bronze medal. Not bad for someone who should have ended his involvement with pool sport for good.
