Biography
He started swimming as a child, following in the footsteps of his two brothers. His first coach was Attilio Garbati, his uncle, while now Claudio Rossetto follows him. At the 2018 European Championships in Glasgow, he helped lead the 4x200 freestyle relay team to the final, and a year later he took part in the World Championships in Gwangju, where he finished fourth with a new national record. With the same relay team, he made the podium twice at European level, in Budapest in 2021 and at home in Rome in 2022. Fifth on his Olympic debut in Tokyo 2020 (and 14th individually in the 200 style), with his teammates he won a national place for the World Championships in Doha 2024 for the Paris Games.
