Biography
Margherita Panziera began swimming at just four years old and never looked back, despite the sacrifices, academic commitments, and time away from friends. Encouraged by her supportive parents, she has achieved remarkable success. Her perseverance has paid off, making her the Italian record holder in the 100 and 200-metre backstroke. Her career breakthrough came in 2018 when she won the European Championship in the 200-metre backstroke in Glasgow, a victory that made her realise her strength, symbolised by the lion tattoo on her back. She lives and trains in Rome, where she graduated in International Business Economics, writing a thesis on the impact of the Olympics on host cities, and where she won two European gold medals. In her limited free time, she indulges her love for films, but the ultimate dream finale is reserved for Paris.
