Biography
At the age of 11 he realised that football was not for him and enrolled with his cousin in a course at Canottieri Padova rowing club: it was love at first sight. He loves the precious yet delicate balance created between the athlete, the boat and the river; he loves and hates the fatigue and tiredness caused by the hard workouts he subjects himself to on a daily basis, proving emphatically that those who told him “he doesn’t have the right physique” were wrong. He has always followed, in sport as in life, his mantra “Hard work pays off”: this is how he won a European gold, a silver and a world bronze medal and also how he secured his Olympic quota pass for Paris.
