Biography
Born in Messina, Andrea Carlino grew up in the historic Akiyama Settimo Torinese club, where he honed his skills as both a judoka and a man. Between 2015 and 2017, he showcased his remarkable talents by winning five European Cups: four at the junior level and one as a senior. In September 2016, he secured a bronze medal in Malaga at the Junior European Championships in the -55 kg category. Transitioning to the senior level, he competes in the up to 60 kg category. His most notable achievement came in May 2024, when he clinched third place at the Astana Grand Slam, marking his first podium finish in the top international circuit. He also performed admirably at the 2023 European Championships in France, reaching the first round of repechage and finishing seventh. Off the tatami, he loves adventure and enjoys other sports such as skiing and mountain biking. A reallocated quota spot earned him a place at the Paris Games: where he is determined to prove his capabilities.
