Biography
Carlos D’Ambrosio is one of the youngest members of the Italian contingent for the Paris 2024 Olympics. Born in the province of Vicenza in 2007, he possesses the mentality and talent of a natural-born champion. Competing for the M. Bentegodi Foundation and coached by Luca Demonte and Emiliano Brembilla, he showcased his innate abilities at the 2023 European Junior Championships in Belgrade, winning gold in both the 4x100 and 4x200-metre freestyle relays. Outside the pool, Carlos maintains a balanced life, dedicating the same effort to his studies at a technical institute, where he is in his third year. In June 2024, he shattered his personal best in the 200-metre freestyle at the Settecolli in Rome, finishing the final in 1:46.78, earning a spot on the 4x200-metre relay team for the French Olympics. In early July, he won five medals (four gold and one bronze) at the European Junior Championships in Vilnius (Lithuania). With room for further improvement and untapped potential, Carlos is eager to continue his remarkable rise in Paris.
