Biography
Initially reluctant to swim due to his aversion to water and cold, Giovanni Caserta gradually adapted, finding his natural habitat in the pool. A native of Calabria, he is a sporting pride of Catanzaro, where he began to show his sprinting talents from a young age. Since 2022, he has been training in Ostia, near Rome, at the speed hub led by federal coach Claudio Rossetto. A lover of hard work, Giovanni enjoys the feeling of muscle pain during a race, which drives him to push even harder. He won bronze in the 200-metre freestyle at the 2023 Chengdu Universiade. In his spare time, Giovanni often visits his family and enjoys video games and surfing, while being a passionate supporter of his hometown football team. In June 2024, he confirmed his qualities at the Settecolli in Rome, earning his spot for the Paris Olympics: now, he can dream big.
