Biography
Born in Livorno and raised in Aviano, Friuli, Antilai Sandrini started with artistic gymnastics and cheerleading before discovering breaking at age 13. Her father, a hotelier who occasionally did a DJ set, inspired her when she saw him grooving one night. Around the same time, she discovered Michael Jackson, who became her primary inspiration at the start of her career. Known as 'B-Girl Anti,' she is also a champion in wushu, a Chinese martial art that enhances her unique breaking style. Trained by her long-time coach Alberto Pelus, also known as 'B-Boy Laced,' she has won the Italian championship and secured silver medals at the 2019 Mediterranean Games and the 2022 European Championships, narrowly missing the podium at the World Championships for three consecutive years. Her name, taken from the literary works of Stefano Cobello, means 'Daughter of the Wind,' and she aims to bring the fresh energy of her sport to Paris 2024.
