Biography

She first picked up a racket at six years old, growing up idolising Italian players like Francesca Schiavone, Flavia Pennetta and Roberta Vinci. At the junior level, she climbed to No. 12 in the rankings, reaching the semi-finals at both the Australian Open and the historic Bonfiglio tournament in Milan. In 2023, she triumphed on the red clay of Lausanne, capturing her first tour-level title, as well as being part of the Italian team that reached the Billie Jean King Cup final. The following year, she made the fourth round at Roland Garros, her best Grand Slam result, which opened the doors of the top 50 again for her, having reached a career-high ranking of No. 29 in August 2023. In between this were also serious injuries, which she overcame with the grit and tenacity that have always characterised her. A law student at the University of Camerino, in her daily life she relaxes with music, a book or photographing landscapes. She has an almost visceral love for representing Italy: being able to participate in Paris 2024 is even more of a source of pride for her.
