Biography
The heart of his family beats for athletics. His father Marcello was a former high jumper with a personal best of 2.27m in 1985, while his coach-mother Kathy Seck is a former Senegalese-born sprinter. His sister Erika is also an international-level high jumper. Between the ages of 8 and 13, he dedicated himself to basketball, a prelude to the beginning of his successes on the track, first in the high jump and then in the long jump. In 2023, he became a real presence at the international level thanks respectively to the gold won at the European U20 Championships and the silver he secured at the European Games in Krakow. At the start of 2024, he then took the stage at the Italian Open in Ancona, where he became the Italian indoor record holder with 8.34m, surpassing the mark set by Andrew Howe in 2007 (8.30m). Just a few days later, he also stepped onto the second step of the podium at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow. In June, he landed at 8.38m at the Stadio Olimpico, winning the European silver medal and improving on his own world U20 record set a month earlier at the Savona meeting (8.36m). A huge fan of AS Roma, in his free time he enjoys video games, listens to trap music and goes crazy for supplì (rice croquettes). Nicknamed 'Spiderman' due to his resemblance to Miles Morales, one of the Marvel characters who assumes the identity of Spider-Man, at the Paris Games he is ready to reveal his superpowers to the whole world.
