Biography
He started weightlifting at the beginning of 2016, viewing it as the best activity to keep him from sitting still at home. After only one month of training, he was already on the mat for a competition. Here he met for the first time Sebastiano Corbu, the current technical director of the national team and a Sardinian just like him. The partnership turned out to be a winning one and led him to break all records in his weight category, in which he can boast a world silver medal and a European silver medal, both won in 2023. To let off steam he listens to music, from rap to reggaeton. Outside of competitions, however, he is crazy about pasta alla carbonara and relaxes by watching TV series or going fishing. With his cool demeanour, explosive energy, and unwavering clarity under pressure, he aims to savour every moment of his Olympic debut in Paris 2024, fully aware that he belongs among the world's elite.
