Biography
He inherited his passion for the sport from father Giuseppe and is the elder brother of Giovanni, also a judoka of international standing. Right from the youth tournaments he entered, he began to secure positive results. In 2013, he became the first Italian to win a gold medal at the Junior World Championships, a triumph that opened the door to the senior national team. 12 months later, he ascended to the pinnacle once again, clinching the coveted gold medal at the U23 European Championships. As a senior, his most important result came in 2018, when he won a splendid bronze medal at the European event in Tel Aviv. At the highest level, he particularly stands out in Grand Prix and Grand Slams and is driven by a determination that burns every day and pushes him to work and improve relentlessly. In Paris 2024, he realised his dream of participating in the Olympic Games for the first time in his career.
