Biography
She began swimming in her native Bologna at a very young age for the Azzurra '91 President club, to which she is still linked. Insiders describe her as a versatile athlete, thanks to her ability to perform across all strokes. She received her first call-up with the senior national team in December 2019, for the European Short Course Championships in Glasgow. Here, she set the new Italian record in the 100 mixed speciality, which she subsequently beat first at the Italian Championships on a regional basis, held in Riccione, and then in September 2021 at the International Swimming League in Naples. A lover of travel and with an adventurous spirit, she was held back at the start of 2022 by the rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in her right leg. She is made of sterner stuff, however, and thanks to her innate fighting skills she quickly returned to the pool, managing to secure a pass for the European Championships in Rome. In Paris 2024, her personal debut in the Olympics, she wants to crown a lifetime of painstaking work.
