Biography
He is one of the youngest members of Pro Recco and the Settebello. He was born in a small town in the Montenegrin mountains to an Italian father and a Yugoslavian mother, but his life has always been in Rome, where he began his water polo career at the Foro Italico in the ranks of the Fin Plus. Sport is in the family DNA. His father is a former basketball player, as is his grandmother, formerly a Red Star player as well as a handball player. A tough, multi-talented athlete, in the water he started out as an attacker but, with time, learnt to perform the tasks of defender and centre-back as well. His versatility proved to be indispensable for the Italian team, with which he won two world silver medals in Budapest 2022 and Doha 2024. In his private life he supports the Boston Celtics and Juventus, and his idols are former Italian water polo player Christian Presciutti and Montenegrin Aleksandar Ivovic, his teammate in Liguria. In the future, aside from wearing the Italian cap at the Paris Games, he hopes to continue making his favourite sport his profession and dreams of becoming a sports journalist.
