Biography
A fixture in the swimming pool ever since she was a child, she started playing water polo in seventh grade thanks to her father's encouragement. At 15, the call came from Ekipe Orizzonte Catania, her hometown team. The magic year was 2019 when, thanks to her goals, the Etna club won the LEN Cup, the LEN Supercup and the Scudetto in one fell swoop. With the Setterosa, she secured a European bronze medal and a world bronze medal. And yet it is the setbacks that fuel her determination to persist in pursuing her objectives, particularly, the exclusion from the world group in Gwangju in 2019 and the disappointment of failing to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Games. Outside the pool, she is the girl next door. A lover of the sea, music and the sun of her native Sicily, when she is not immersed in competitions she helps her parents run their pizzeria. Now she doesn't want to interrupt her climb to the highest peak, and in Paris 2024 she hopes to secure her greatest goals: her Olympic targets.
