Biography
He inherited his passion for water polo from his mother Milena Virzì, a former Orizzonte and Setterosa player. In June 2023, he transferred from Ortigia to Pro Recco. In Liguria, in addition to growing as a player, he wants to continue his university studies in industrial chemistry, a subject he has been passionate about since childhood. His water-polo idol has always been his brother Andrea, his teammate from Syracuse. His sporting idol, on the other hand, is the American Kawhi Leonard, basketball player for the Los Angeles Clippers. His talents and constant growth also convinced coach Alessandro Campagna, who did not think twice about having him join the national team. At the beginning of 2024, a highlight came at the European Championships in Croatia, where he won the bronze medal. A month later, the silver medal at the World Championships in Doha opened the door to his Olympic debut at the Paris Games, another remarkable milestone in a career still to unfold.
