Biography
Born and raised in Lviv, western Ukraine. She discovered her aptitude for cross-country and middle-distance running at the age of 14 thanks to school competitions. In 2016, she graduated in physical culture and sport and decided to join her mother in Rome. Here she chose to dedicate herself to athletics and came into contact with the Army Sports Centre. In mid-2018 she moved permanently to Italy. In January 2021, she received her citizenship and in October of the same year she made her marathon debut, triumphing in Venice in 2h29:12. In December 2023, thanks to a time of 2h23:16 recorded in Valencia, she became the Italian record holder in the speciality and, less than three months later, she took centre stage on the streets of Naples, where she equalled the Italian record in the half marathon (1h08:27). In her spare time, she likes to enjoy the Roman landscapes and cook. In the field of music, she likes to explore a range of styles but is a die-hard Depeche Mode fan. Now, after years of sacrifice, she is ready to make her Olympic debut at the Paris 2024 Games.
