Biography
Giorgia Pelacchi’s journey into rowing began in the summer of 2010 when she set aside volleyball to start a rowing course. She began her rowing career at the historic Canottieri Moto Guzzi in Mandello del Lario, following in the footsteps of her uncle and cousin, both former world champions. Giorgia’s U23 career was marked by success; in 2018, she won a remarkable world championship gold in the coxed four at Sarasota, setting a world record. To her, rowing is more than a sport; it’s a way of life that, especially in her transition to senior competition, has embraced her fully, helping her overcome every challenge. A Political Science student, Giorgia earned two European bronze medals with her teammates in the eight between 2023 and 2024. After the disappointment of not being selected for Tokyo 2020, she realises her dream in Paris: finally, the Olympics are part of her story.
