Biography
Elisa Mondelli comes from a family with a rich tradition of rowing on Lake Como. Her parents and uncles are former rowers, and her grandfather was the president of Canottieri Cernobbio. However, her first sport was skiing, regularly hitting the slopes of Santa Caterina Valfurva with her parents. Eventually, the call of the water and oars drew her in, alongside her brother Filippo, who tragically passed away at 26 from osteosarcoma. Balancing her training with studies in Sports Movement Science, she joined the Fiamme Gialle military team in December 2023, achieving another of her career goals. After winning consecutive European bronzes with the eight, Elisa now heads to Paris 2024 with the support of a special fan, who himself once dreamt of competing in the Olympic Games.
