Biography
An infectious smile, quality and determination, in life as well as in rowing. As the stroke of the women’s eight, Veronica Bumbaca takes immense pride in leading from the first seat of the flagship boat, marking a historic achievement by securing Italy's first-ever Olympic qualification in this exhilarating yet highly competitive discipline. In recent months, however, there has been no lack of encouraging signs. In August 2023 and April 2024, in fact, there were two bronze medals at European level, as well as many other encouraging podium placings at World Championships and the World Cup circuit, culminating in a first place at Varese at the start of the Olympic year. In her spare time, she loves to travel and explore new destinations to learn more about the surrounding cultures and traditions. Her latest sporting exploits bode well for Paris, where she wants to enjoy her own Olympic baptism.
