Biography
As a child, his idol was Michael Phelps and he also practiced swimming, following in his father's footsteps. At 12, he chose tennis, which he found more engaging than the solitude experienced in the swimming lane. Since 2021, he has been coached by former player Alessandro Petrone, with whom, over the course of a few years, he climbed the world rankings to reach the No. 34 position (his best ranking) in June 2024. In between came victory in four Challengers, as well as many notable results in both the Masters 1000 and Grand Slam tournaments, in which he boasts two fourth-round appearances: one at the US Open and the other at Roland Garros. He reached the peak of his career in November 2023, when he triumphed with Italy in the Davis Cup, giving the Azzurri team its first point in the final against Australia. Raised idolizing Djokovic and Federer, he is also a keen follower of motorsports, basketball and football, being a big fan of Inter Milan. In Paris, nothing is off-limits for him.
