Biography
Giorgia's love for table tennis began almost by accident. She started playing as a child at a beach resort on the Romagna Riviera, where her family vacationed. Though she also tried skiing, swimming, and football in the mountains of Bolzano, none captivated her as table tennis did. Her professional journey began in South Tyrol, but she soon moved to France in 2018 with a determination to enhance her skills. That same year, she joined a German club, becoming a standout player in the Bundesliga and a key member of the Italian national team. The summer of 2022 was a magic one for Giorgia. She won a team silver medal at the Mediterranean Games and narrowly missed advancing to the semifinals in the individual event at the European Championships in Munich. A graduate of a sports science high school, she often retreats to her family and the mountains she loves whenever she can. Having competed in the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing 2014, Giorgia feels she is on the right path as she eyes a medal at Paris 2024.
