Biography
She discovered fencing and the sabre during the 2004 Athens Games when, during a holiday with her parents in Spain, she watched the gold medal victory by Aldo Montano on television – her idol from the very first bouts on the piste. After years of artistic gymnastics, athletics, swimming and tennis, she enrolled at Club Scherma Roma and, after a month of plastic foil, already found herself holding the iron sabre. A graduate in Politics, Philosopohy and Economics from Luiss, in 2020 she also obtained a master's degree in International Relations. Outside of competitions, she loves reading, playing the guitar and listening to music: from Tracy Chapman to Ed Sheeran via Vasco Rossi and Lucio Dalla. In recent years she has carved out a prominent role for herself on the World Cup circuit, as well as becoming an indispensable part of the Italian team, with which she won silver at the European Games in Krakow in the summer of 2023. An incredibly energetic girl with bags of determination, she has reached peak maturity to face her Olympic debut in Paris 2024.
