Biography
“I was scared the first time, but once I touched the ground, I wanted to try again because I enjoyed it so much.” This mix of emotions describes Laura Rogora’s early experiences in climbing. Introduced to the sport by her father Enrico, she started climbing cliffs at the age of four and quickly fell in love with it. To pursue climbing, she moved from Rome to Trento, where she is a Mathematics student. Numbers are another passion she inherited from her father, a professor at the University of Rome 'La Sapienza'. To her, climbing and equations are similar: both are about solving problems. Her fluidity and determination have made her competitive in all disciplines, with her best results coming in lead climbing, including a European silver and a world bronze. As she heads to Paris 2024, her eyes and those of her supporters are set on the combined boulder & lead event, where she competes as a promising outsider.
