Biography

He was born and raised in Montevideo, Uruguay, spending his childhood chasing a ball alongside no less a footballer than Luis Suarez. It was in Miami, however, where he later moved with his parents, that he discovered beach volleyball. On the court, creativity is his trademark and he is nicknamed 'Mr. Skyball' because of his extremely high, almost vertical serve, which very often forces his opponents to lose their rhythm when returning. He takes part in international competitions wearing the Italian jersey thanks to his maternal grandmother's Italian origins and, in November 2022, he returned to compete with Alex Ranghieri, the partner with whom he won the silver medal at the 2015 European Championships and participated in the Rio 2016 Games. In his free time, he relaxes by playing golf or surfing with friends and is a great NBA fan. In a tournament, he always aims to win and loves to entertain, especially the younger fans, with his spectacular moves: his third Olympics show is scheduled for Paris 2024.
