Biography

A sports-loving girl from early in life, even before sailing in the Gulf of Cagliari she had tried her hand at basketball, mini-volleyball and artistic gymnastics. Then, at the age of eight, her passion for sailing bloomed, following in the footsteps of her father, who attended the Windsurfing Club Cagliari with his friends. In the youth categories, she won everything possible thanks to her undeniable talent. At the end of 2017, in order to support the Olympic campaign, together with “colleague” and fellow Sardinian Carlo Ciabatti, she set up the “Ajò to Tokyo 2020” a project aimed at finding sponsorship among businesses and institutions on the island. In Japan, she finished fourth, but two years later she made her definitive debut on the international stage with gold in the world championship in Brest in the iQFOiL, the new class in Olympic windsurfing. In the summer of 2023, she was again in the spotlight at world championship level. And it was in the Netherlands that she secured the pass for her second Olympic event. The whole of Sardinia is now cheering for her ahead of Paris 2024, and Marta is ready to take on the new challenge.
