Biography
Over the last four years she has formed part of one of the most successful crews together with Ruggero Tita. Having first boarded a sailing boat at the age of 13 whilst on a summer course, Caterina has also devoted herself to other sports: fencing, horse-riding and ballet, favouring study over competitive activity and graduating in Oriental Studies with honours. It wasn’t until she was in her twenties that she and her brother returned to sailing and since she got back into the boat with Ruggero in 2017, she has never stopped winning. In just a few years they collected four European and three world titles. Their peak, however, came in 2020 with Olympic gold in Tokyo, on Banti’s Olympic debut. The second consecutive world championship accolade, obtained in August 2023 in Holland, opened the doors to Paris 2024 for the pair – yet another step in an already glorious career.
