Biography
Shooting is a family passion. As a child, she always went to the shooting range to follow her father’s activities. At 15, she too picked up a rifle. A Fiamme Gialle athlete (the sports section of the Italian police), she also trains five times a week, shooting almost 200 clay targets daily. Despite the disappointment of not being selected for the Rio 2016 Olympics, Silvana persevered, clinching a bronze medal at the 2018 World Championships in Changwon and at the same time qualifying for the women’s trap in Tokyo. In Japan she finished in fifth place, subsequently cementing herself at the highest level with a win at the European Championships in Larnaca 2022, rewarding Italy with its first Olympic quota place for Paris 2024. In France, the Italian shooter will be in the hunt for an Olympic medal, the only honour still missing from her already packed trophy collection.
