Biography

As a boy, he played basketball. Then at 14, driven by extreme curiosity, he approached shooting ranges. Initially he only shot air rifles, but later fell in love with pistol shooting and made it his discipline. The greatest satisfaction of his career came at the 2019 European Championships in Bologna when, in front of family and friends, he triumphed and won the gold medal. Holder of the European record (35 targets hit), he can also boast several podiums on the World Cup circuit, including second place in the 2010 final in Munich. He also holds a specialised degree in Economics, and his days, in addition to shooting, are filled with many other physical activities: from the gym to cycling to hiking in the mountains in the company of his partner Martina and their golden retriever. He continues to follow basketball avidly, having been a big fan of Kobe Bryant. Part of the Italian team at both Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, his perennial struggle for improvement continues in Paris 2024, where he arrives as the reigning European vice-champion.
