Biography
He is the gentle giant of the Italia Team. He grew up in South Africa, where he practiced all kinds of sports: from rugby to cricket, water polo, football and baseball. At 18, he moved to Cape Town, where he obtained a degree in Financial Accounting. He chose to dedicate himself to shot put and made contact via the web with the Italian coach Paolo Dal Soglio. He arrived in Italy in March 2020 and, thanks to his maternal grandfather's Italian origins, obtained eligibility to defend the tricolour. In 2023, he reached the continental indoor summit in Istanbul with 22.06m, becoming the second Italian in history to go beyond twenty-two metres. In September, he broke this barrier outdoors as well thanks to the 22.44m recorded at the Padua meeting, a milestone that came more than two months after winning gold at the European Games in Krakow. In his free time, he relaxes by reading psychology books and swimming in open waters. Fifth at the Tokyo 2020 Games, in Paris 2024 he wants to roar for the first time at the Olympic level.
