Biography
His first memory of archery is linked to the fox Robin Hood, the protagonist of the famous Walt Disney animated film. He began practising it purely by chance in the summer of 1997. At the hotel where he was staying with his parents in Aprica, a field was set up by the local club. He was given the chance to try it and immediately realised that arrows would soon become the sport of his life. A four-time Olympian, he reached the pinnacle with the team gold he won at the 2012 London Games. However, his trophy cabinet also includes two other Olympic medals, including the silver won in the individual event at Tokyo 2020. A Formula 1 enthusiast and a die-hard Inter fan, in his private life he relaxes by reading adventure or fantasy books, cooking, or working with epoxy resin. The Olympics are an unknown for everyone, but he trains to cope with this kind of pressure: in Paris 2024, he wants to shine again.
