Biography
The first sport she took up was volleyball. When she stepped onto the piste at the age of eight, however, she immediately realised that it was the right path. In love with Puglia and the sunshine of Capitanata and Gargano, over the years she has made a name for herself on international stages, exporting all the warmth and positivity of her land. After coming through the youth ranks, she realised the sacrifices and sweat of a lifetime in 2017, when she placed world and European gold around her neck in team sabre. After the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, coming off a fourth place finish with her teammates and a heavy knee injury, she even considered quitting. Driven by an unyielding desire to etch her name in the annals of sports history, coupled with unwavering confidence in her from the technical coaches, she refused to succumb. A cheerful girl and a lover of travel, music and orecchiette alle cime di rapa (pasta with turnip tops), she will now fly to Paris 2024 to experience her second Olympics as a protagonist.
