Biography
He is the king of Italian middle and long-distance running, simultaneously holding the national records in the 3,000m, 5,000m, 10,000m, 5km, 10km, half marathon and marathon. His story, however, starts from afar. The civil war in Ethiopia, indeed, tore him away from his family of origin and led him to an orphanage in Addis Ababa, from where, in 2003, he was adopted by a Milanese couple: Roberto and Luisa Crippa. The new family settled in Trentino, where Yemaneberhan (the name in Amharic means 'the right arm of God') began playing football and was then introduced to running at Atletica Valchiese. Like his older brother Nekagenet (also an Azzurro), he distinguished himself in all categories and on all terrains, from mountain running to cross country. In his career, he particularly distinguished himself at the European level, winning, among other medals, the gold in the 10,000m at the 2022 edition in Munich. With a diploma in hotel management, the young man steeped in challenges and records wants to roar in Paris 2024 too.
